O de V - Italian Vodka

Vodka from Grapes

"My respect for tradition is expressed in such a way that I like to play with it".
For some, tradition is a belief. Absolute and inviolable.
For me, tradition means a solid basis, a starting point.

... So, in a conversation with Luciano Brotto, I came up with the idea of transforming brandy into a vodka that combines the qualities I value most: the drinkability of vodka with the smooth pleasure of a brandy. Thus O de V was born - The result of curiosity, different grape varieties and great technical "know-how". The result is the most elegant and pleasant vodka I have ever drunk. P.S.: Unlike other distillates, the production of "vodka" is not tied to traditional ingredients (grain in Russia and potatoes in Poland).

Marcello Bruschetti (The Creator)

Taking advantage of the excellent organoleptic properties of some aromatic international and indigenous grape varieties (mainly Chardonnay, Glera, Incrocio Manzoni) and all materials obtained from them: wine, must, pulp and peels, we have produced a top quality product.

The distillation occurs in five distinct phases. The first four distillations serve to separate and remove any unwanted chemical and organic elements. The fifth distillation, performed with a cutting-edge alembic, is done to select the delicate aromatic presence of the vines. The final O de V distillation rests for a short time and then flows over a natural carbon bed and flakes of dried birch bark. Filtration takes place in several stages: decantation, sieving with linen cloths, filtering with traditional filters, micro-organic, electrostatic purification and, to conclude, more filtering with cross-flow filters, making the product totally and completely pure.

Recommended serving temperature: 6-8° C

By exploiting the great organoleptic qualities of some not too aromatic international and local grape varieties (mainly Chardonnay, Glera, Incrocio Manzoni) and of everything obtained from them (wine, must, pulp, skins), a product of the very highest quality was born.

Food Pairing: perfect for raw fish, sushi and sashimi, oysters, smoked or salted salmon and trout, sublime with caviar.

O de V - Wodka / Vodka - Cedro - Zitron

Citrus Medica / Citron

It is believed that this is one of the three species of citrus plants that give rise to all the other known citrus plants. it comes from south east Asia, roughly around the area now known as Bhutan, but arrived in Europe in ancient times, as demonstrated by the existence of the ancient Greek term "Kedros" even before the appearance of the latin term "Citrus". Today it is cultivated predominantly in Calabria, but it is also cultivated in Sicily, the Campania region, and further north on the coast of lake Garda close to Brescia. There are many varieties but the fruit is always quite large, of a pale yellow color and its peel is always exceptionally thick. O de V is flavored by cold infusion, by marinating the citron peel for 40 days in high-proof vodka, and subsequently the product is diluted with deionized and demineralized water to obtain the desired alcoholic content (40 %). Once the product has been stabilized there is a three-week decantation period followed by a three-month resting period in the bottle.

O de V - Wodka / Vodka - Arancia Amara / Bitter Orangen

Citrus Aurantinum / Bitterorange

The bitter orange tree is an ancient hybrid, but it has been growing as an autonomous species for centuries. The bitter orange differs from the sweet variety in that its peel is brighter and rougher, but above all because of the bitter taste of its pulp. The Arabs have cultivated it since the 9th century and in the 11th century they imported to Sicily where it is still cultivated today. O de V is flavored by cold infusion, by marinating bitter orange peel for 40 days in high-proof vodka, and subsequently the product is diluted with deionized and demineralized water to obtain the desired alcoholic content (40 %). Once the product has been stabilized there is a three-week decantation period followed by a three-month resting period in the bottle.

O de V - Wodka / Vodka - Bergamotte

Citrus Bergamia / Bergamotte

The origins of this citrus fruit, which almost certainly is a genetic mutation of the lemon or the bitter orange, are not known. One thing however, is certain; the first major plantation of Bergamot Orange trees dates back to 1750 along the coast around Reggio Calabria where even today most of the world production is concentrated. The fruit is a little bigger than an orange and a bit smaller than a grapefruit and its yellow colour is less intense than that of a lemon. O de V is flavoured by cold infusion, by marinating bergamot orange peel for 40 days in high-proof vodka, and subsequently the product is diluted with deionized and demineralized water to obtain the desired alcoholic content (40 %). Once the product has been stabilized there is a three-week decantation period followed by a three-month resting period in the bottle.

O de V - Wodka / Vodka - Chinotto

Citrus Myrtifolia / Chinotto

The origins of the myrtle-leaved "Chinotto" orange tree are also unknown and here again it is believed to be a genetic mutation of the bitter orange tree. The Italian name, "chinotto", derives from "China", from where the plant is traditionally believed to have been imported to Liguria in the late 16th century. However, considering that today there is no trace of this plant in the Far East and that, apart from a few exceptions, it is cultivated exclusively in Italie, it is more probable is the result of a mutation that occurred in the Mediterranean area. The mature fruit is small, orange and flat at the poles. O de V is flavored by cold infusion, by marinating chinotto orange peel for 40 days in high-proof vodka, and subsequently the product is diluted with deionized and demineralized water to obtain the desired alcoholic content (40 %). Once the product has been stabilized there is a three-week decantation period followed by a three-month resting period in the bottle.

O de V - Wodka / Vodka - Sì (Blaubeeren Extract)

Sì - Pink

In this special edition, our vodka is coloured pink, thanks to a natural extract of blueberries that gives it its fascinating colouring without altering its taste and aroma.
