O de V - The Italian Dry Gin - Black, 0.70l

It was a long road to our "Italian Gin". We started from a few core ideas: combining the alcoholic base with our "Mediterranean vodka", and the idea of a complex, fragrant, sensual gin. I don't know how others make their gin – we began by capturing the elements of its soul: tasty, fruity, aromatic, full-bodied.

Then we only had to experiment to define each one of them. That's why I answer everyone who asks for the recipe: a love of experimenting, curiosity and imagination. That is the recipe of our "Italian Gin". Then come capers, chinotto, bergamot, citron, dried orange peel, cardamom, hibiscus, dried rosemary, vanilla pods and other botanicals.

O de V Italian Dry Gin Black is a dry gin made from wine: it is obtained by distilling partially fermented wine.

As with our vodka, our gin follows the idea of the "Mediterranean Distillate". The Mediterranean means sun. The sun means roundness, softness, complexity and explosive aromas.

We pursued this idea and defined the botanical recipes that characterise "Black" and "White". Black is a very fragrant, complex and elegant gin, quite smooth, but less smooth than the "White" version: it contains fewer vanilla pods, no figs and has a light smoky note of rosemary. In short, a "super gin" that makes a gin and tonic so enjoyable that it becomes an alternative to wine.
