In the fifth stage, a latest-generation alembic selects the fine aromatic compounds of the grape varieties. O de V then rests briefly at its final strength before running through a bed of natural charcoal and dried birch bark. Filtration takes several steps: decanting, sieving through linen cloths and traditional filters, microbiological purification under electrostatic voltage and, finally, cross-flow filters that ensure a perfectly pure product.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCitrus aurantium – Bitter orange\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe bitter orange was originally a hybrid that developed into a species of its own over the centuries. It differs from the sweet orange in its lighter, rougher peel and, above all, in the bitter taste of its flesh. The Arabs cultivated it from the 9th century and brought it to Sicily in the 11th century, where it is still grown today.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eO de V Bitter Orange gets its aroma through cold maceration: the bitter orange peel steeps for 40 days in high-strength vodka. It is then brought to 40 % vol. with deionised, demineralised water.
